M.S./Ph.D. Program
In the M.S. and Ph.D. programs, each student plans an individualized course of study with the assistance of a special committee made up of faculty members representing major and minor areas of study. The PhD requires a minimum of 6, and the MS requires a minimum of 2 registration units. The eight concentrations of study are:

- Environmental Fluid Mechanics & Hydrology
- Environmental Processes
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Remote Sensing
- Structural Engineering
- Transportation Systems Engineering
M.S. and Ph.D. Assessment
Candidates for the M.S. and Ph.D. programs are expected to demonstrate mastery of knowledge in a specific subject area in Civil and Environmental engineering and to synthesize and create new knowledge, making original and substantial contributions to their discipline in a timely fashion.
