Adjunct and Joint Appointment Faculty
In 1998 Professor Carr retired from his 18 year position as Chief Executive Officer of Bernier Carr and Associates, P.C., a multi-disciplined engineering, architecture and construction management firm located in northern New York.
Since that time Dr. Carr has continued a private practice, consulting on dispute resolution matters in the building industry.
Dr. Carr completed his doctoral studies at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg Virginia in Construction Engineering and Management, in the Charles E. Via School of Civil Engineering. He also holds a Master of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, while his undergraduate work was in Civil Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Professor Carr's teaching interests focus on the management of the engineering process, with particular emphasis on the building sector of the design and construction industry. He has worked primarily with the evaluation of productivity matters, relating to budget and schedule issues, for project management control.
This fall Carr teaches a course in Construction Operations and Planning, as well as a Design Project for Master of Engineering students, entitled Practice Management for the Consulting Professional.
