Diego Muriel Delgado
Diego graduated as a Civil Engineer from Universidad Javeriana Cali (Colombia) in 2008. After three years working on hydrodynamics of storage and chlorine contact tanks, he moved to Ithaca in 2011 to pursue his graduate studies at Cornell University. Diego completed his MS in Civil & Environmental Engineering in 2013 funded by Fulbright. His MS thesis focused on the development of a self-powered water pump, work he continues on his PhD with Todd Cowen exploring fluid-structure interaction problems arising from these pumps. On his research he employs diverse imaging techniques, particle image velocimetry, and immerse boundary methods.
