Using 2D Navier-stokes solver to investigate the interaction between the shear instability, resulting from the near-bottom wave induced flow reversal, and the one resulting from the separation behind bed ripple. The numerical technique adopted is a high order method based on spectral multi-domain penalty method. Fourier polynomial discretization is used in the horizontal direction while a Legendre polynomial based multi domain scheme in the vertical.
