TWO CEE faculty elected as distinguished members of ASCE
CEE Faculty member, Jery Stedinger and CEE Director, Philip L-F. Liu were elected to the grade of Distinguished Members of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Society's Bylaws describes this honor as:
"A distinguished Member shall be a Member of Fellow who shall have attained acknowledged eminence in some branch of engineering or in the arts and sciences related thereto...A Distinguished Member shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Society and shall be exempt from payment of annual dues."
Prior to this year's election of 12 new Distinguished Members, only 626 other engineers in the 161-year history of ASCE have been similarly honored.
