Haith, who joined the agricultural engineering faculty in 1971, works in the general area of environmental systems analysis. He has also held positions as hydraulic engineer, project engineer, and senior engineer in several consulting firms. Haith is a member of the board of directors of the American Water Resources Association and associate editor of the Journal of Environmental Engineering. The American Society of Civil Engineers awarded him the Walter L. Huber Civil Engneering Research Prize in 1981 and the Wesley W. Horner Environmental Engineering Award in 1988. Haith also received the 1990 Special Service Award from the New York Association of Conservation Districts.
