Grigoriu joined Cornell's structural engineering faculty in 1980 after several years of professional practice and research in Romania, Venezuela, Canada, and the United States. His research interests are in structural dynamics, random vibration, system reliability, stochastic mechanics, fracture mechanics, and applied probability. He is a member of numerous professional organizations.
