CEE 3090 Special Topics in CEE: History of Cornell CEE

Supervised individual or small-group study related to the history of CE/CEE at Cornell in concert with the celebration of the 2015 sesquicentennial of both the University and Cornell civil engineering. Particular focus and scope of study is to be agreed upon by individual participants and the instructor. Potential themes include: (a) research, preservation and restoration of instruments and artifacts dating from the early times of CE; (b) research and interpretation of the evolution of engineering and scientific fields included in the CE/CEE curriculum as reflected by departmental organizations, faculty appointments and categories of courses offered; (c) identification and compilation of both a timeline of landmarks in Cornell CEE and a listing of notable graduates and faculty; and (d) other history topics that may be proposed and mutually agreed upon.
