Ithaca Campus

The Ithaca Campus of Cornell University offers a living lab of unique opportunities outside of the classroom to experience the 22 bridges and 250 building built over the last 150 years.

Students have experienced new building construction developed by a Pritzker Prize winning – architect as well as an 150 year old historic masonry structure being stabilized through temporary shoring – both iconic in their own way. Students have hands-on opportunities in the Bovay Lab to weld structural steel connections, proportion and mix concrete, build masonry walls, and fabricate mechanical components through 3D printing. The result is the opportunity to connect the theory to the application in service and deepen understanding of structural mechanics and materials.
